Medal of Honor Warfighter is the 12th installment in the best-selling series of first person shooters. It was released on October 23, 2012 by EA Games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. This game is published by EA Games under their own label imprint called 'EA LA'. The game features single player gameplay with various levels set in various places around the world including Pakistan, China, Kazakhstan and Yemen. Multiplayer gameplay includes modes such as Conquest Large where players assume control of either an American or Taliban team that attempts to take over objectives throughout a map known as "Strike Zone". The traditional Team Deathmatch is also available for those who prefer to kill opponents without securing objectives. The game is based around the story of a group of Navy SEALs on a covert mission to track and counter terrorist cells that might threaten US interests. As such, it is not based on any real world events like some of the previous games in the Medal of Honor series, although it does draw some inspiration from recent events such as the rescue mission that resulted in Osama Bin Laden's death. Medal of Honor Warfighter features new and revamped multiplayer and single-player modes and gameplay elements. The gameplay itself has been greatly overhauled, attempting to make it more realistic and satisfying. Some of the improvements include an altered physics engine which allows for deadlier and more realistic encounters, such as the ability to kill an enemy sniper with a single shot at long distances or punch through a wall to take out an enemy in hiding. Another improvement is the high quality graphics and animations in the game, including full body and facial expressions for all players which is often lacking in games with cutscenes. Warfighter also utilizes a redesigned melee and fire modes, in which the player is allowed to punch in slow motion or grab enemies and use their weapons in combat situations. In addition to this new gameplay along with some other gameplay additions had been made from previous installments. Players can now sprint during combat and lean out from behind cover to take shots. They can also climb over obstacles and mantle through windows as opposed to simply jumping over them. In addition, weapons no longer have a set amount of ammunition as they did in some prior installments, but rather have a magazine size. This allows for the same weapon to have more or less ammo depending on what is comfortable for the player. Spawning has also been overhauled, giving players more control over where they spawn after death. When a player dies, a new screen appears allowing the player to decide whether or not they want to spawn at their last position or back at friendly lines or even on their opponents' side. If the player dies when in an unmanned vehicle like a helicopter, they will come back in another similar vehicle. Another new feature is when the player dies they are shown a "killcam" of exactly how he or she died; if killed by an explosive, for instance, it will show where the explosive came from and what direction it was fired in. Players can also select whether they want to come back in as a specific class (such as sniper or assault) or respawn in with the same gear they previously had - this adds an additional layer of strategy to teams in multiplayer games. The multiplayer mode itself has been altered greatly from previous Medal of Honor titles. cfa1e77820
